National Geographic Kids Engineering Challenge

How do National Geographic explorers do research, and get such great photos, in the wild? National Geographic invites kids to try and solve the technical problems explorers face, in a new Kids Engineering Exploration Challenge.

Until May 1, 2014, kids age 6-18 can develop and submit a solution to one of three challenges: constructing a camera that can withstand an attack from an animal; creating a camera that can be raised and lowered into a forest canopy; designing a wearable power system that can generate electricity to charge devices in the field without use of an electrical outlet. Some submitted solutions will be tested in National Geographic's top-secret Engineering Lab.
