The Great Pollinators
Description
In this activity, learners become familiar with the parts of a flowering plant’s reproductive system and explain how flowering plants depend on pollinators for survival. Learners collect data about various flowers to determine possible pollinators. The lesson plan contains Texas science standards (TEKS), background information, key vocabulary, materials, procedures, questions to ask, extensions, and additional resources. This activity can be used on its own or combined with a visit to the EcoStation exhibit at the Children's Museum of Houston.
