Tricky Letter Puzzle
Description
In this activity, learners design, create and solve puzzles to experiment with problem solving and geometric shapes. While learners are solving each other's puzzles, educators can introduce vocabulary (slide, flip, and turn) to describe moving a geometric shape without changing its shape. The puzzles can be stored in the envelopes used during play. This lesson plan contains Texas standards (TEKS), background information, key vocabulary, materials, procedures, questions to ask, extensions, and additional resources. This activity can be used on its own or combined with a visit to the Think Tank exhibit at the Children's Museum of Houston.
