Counting It Out In Rapid Speed!
Description
In this activity, learners count by 5, 10, 20, and 100 in response to common money transfer scenarios. By participating in this speed-counting activity that feels like a game, learners make a connection between the need for counting with accuracy and the use of this skill in everyday life. The activity may be used to enhance learning that happens before or after a visit to the Kidtropolis exhibit at the Children's Museum of Houston, but a visit is not required. The lesson plan includes background information, key vocabulary and definitions, questions to ask, resources, and blackline masters.
