Description

In this hands-on activity, learners explore, identify, and describe different types of simple machines by rotating between stations. At each station, learners use a variety of materials to create and investigate one of six simple machines. This activity is best if completed in small groups of 2-4 students. This lesson plan includes background information, vocabulary words, questions to ask, extensions, resources, and station cards. The activity may be used to enhance learning that happens before or after a visit to the How Does it Work? gallery at the Children's Museum of Houston, but a visit is not required.
