Aviary Architect Game

In this online game, learners are challenged to design a birdhouse that will keep a bird comfortable throughout a day. Learners choose a bird species and learn about its needs. Then, they design a birdhouse that is comfortable for the bird while it nests during the spring equinox. Finally, they watch as the house is tested over the course of a day and night, to find out how happy the bird is with its new home. After testing the birdhouse, learners can modify their design and retest. There is a related, hands-on version of this activity. Links for the hands-on version can be found below, in the section titled "Other".
