4.OA Use the four operations with whole numbers to solve problems 1.ii. Interpret a division equation in a multiplicative comparison context, i.e., division to find the scale factor and division to find the base quantity. (only with whole numbers) 2.i. Multiply or divide to solve word problems involving multiplicative comparison. ii. Distinguish multiplicative comparison from additive comparison. 3.i. Solve multistep word problems (with whole numbers only) involving the mixture of the four operations. ii. Interpret remainders in problems involving division and determine the appropriate answers. iii. Represent problem situations using equations with a letter standing for the unknown quantity. iv. Develop mental computation and estimation strategies (including rounding) and use them to assess reasonableness of answers. 4.NBT Generalize place value understanding for multi-digit whole numbers 6.i. Find whole-number quotients and remainders with up to four-digit dividends and one-digit divisors, using strategies based on place value, the properties of operations, and/or the relationship between multiplication and division. ii. Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models. Begin developing the standard algorithm of division. 4.MD Solve problems involving measurement and conversion of measurements from a larger unit to a smaller unit 2. Use the four operations to solve word problems involving distances, intervals of time, liquid, volumes, masses of objects, and money, including problems involving simple fractions or decimals, and problems that require expressing measurements given in a larger unit in terms of a smaller unit. Represent measurement quantities using diagrams such as number line diagrams that feature a measurement scale.
