In this activity, learners discover a trick to release the air out of a balloon without popping it. Learners use an unbent paperclip to carefully puncture a hole in an inflated balloon to slowly leak out the air without bursting the entire balloon. Use this activity to discuss elasticity as well as self-sealing fuel tanks in racing cars and aircrafts. This activity includes extension activities for further learning.
