In this yummy earth science activity (page 5 of the PDF), learners use fudge to learn about different kinds of lava. Cooking and cooling the fudge in different ways simulate the formation of two different kinds of lava: pahoehoe and aa lava. Although this was designed as a pre-visit activity for a workshop about Earth processes, it also makes an excellent stand-alone activity.
