In this activity, learners will experiment with textures, shapes, and materials and create their own unique masterpieces. Appropriate for any age, learners can use fingers to tear and rip paper, mix with diluted glue, and layer onto an available object. Activity includes step-by-step instructions and photo visuals.

  • An object to découpage onto such as a jar, vase, bowl, picture frame
  • Mod Podge or diluted Elmer’s Glue (Mix together three parts glue with one part water)
  • Cup
  • Water
  • Spoon
  • Foam or bristle brush
  • Variety of papers such as tissue paper, wrapping paper, scrapbook paper, napkins, magazines, greeting cards
  • Scissors (optional)
  • Protective covering to protect your work surface, like a plastic placemat
