In this activity, learners explore sound by constructing their very own instruments using PVC pipes, soda bottles, and a straw. Note: this activity requires the use of a drill and drill bits, not included in the cost of materials.

- 2 plastic water bottles
- 1 film canister, juice jug or small water bottle
- 1 straw
- 2 1' pieces of 1/2" PVC pipe
- 1 latex glove or balloon
- 2 rubber bands
- 3 paint paddles or wood pieces
- 1 13/16" paddle bit
- vinyl tubing
- 1 drill bit, same diameter as straw
