In this amazingly simple physics activity (page 5 of the PDF), learners will explore how exerting a force on an object can give it kinetic energy and momentum. Although this activity was created as a pre-visit for a work shop about the physics of roller coasters, it also makes an excellent stand alone activity! This is a wonderful example of how science can be found in the simplest of situations.
