In this nutrition activity (page 2 of the PDF), learners will be split up into food groups (Fruit, Vegetable, Meat & Beans, Grain, and Dairy) and draw a picture of their favorite food from their group. This is an excellent activity not only to discuss variety in diet, but to stress where their food comes from. A suggested extension is to have a Food Pyramid "potluck," where each learner brings in a healthy food from their given group to share. This activity was created as a pre-visit for a traveling science show, but makes a great stand-alone activity as well! It links well with the Create a Food Diary activity from the same PDF.
