In this health activity (page 7 of the PDF), learners will discover the importance of handwashing as a factor in reducing the spread of pathogens. Using a sponge (or sponge-like ball) and flour, learners will see firsthand how easy it is for germs to spread. This is a pre-visit activity for a workshop about fighting germs, but is also an excellent stand-alone activity.
