In this activity, learners craft their own model of a comet on a stick to make it fly around the room. Using different color ribbons, tin foil, and other low cost materials, learners will create the coma, nucleolus, gas tail, and dust tail components of their comet. This activity includes step-by-step instructions with pictures, a diagram showing components of a comet, and a section with background information about comets.
