In this activity, learners will explore engineering to construct an insect collecting tool (insect aspirator). The pooter uses suction to safely collect smaller insects that nets miss or may injure. Includes templates, step by step instructions with video and a "What's going on" section relating the activity to the natural world. Requires some scissor use and a single hole puncher.

- Small clear container with lid (souffle cup is great)
- One straw (paper preferred)

- Small piece of cloth (cheese cloth or any sheer, thin, stretchy fabric)
