In this activity, learners create their own bird species using arts and crafts materials. The bird call recordings are not online so the introduction activity can't be done, but everything else can. Start by discussing how birds share common characteristics, even though their beaks, wings, and feet appear different. Learners create and name their new species, and write what it is able to do based on the features they gave it. Stickers are provided for download and printing out. Background information for activity leaders is provided. The activity is designed for groups of four to six children in grades K-5. [Activity is publicly available through a web crawler capture on Archive.org.]
