In this self-measuring activity, learners observe and record how many times a minute they blink, take a breath, and chew, as well as how many times a minute their heart beats. Learners are encouraged to take and record the same kinds of measurements for family members and friends. The "DId You Know" section offers some facts about how a child's heart rate differs from an adult's.
