Destination Tidepool

In this activity (page 7 of pdf), learners research tide pool ecosystems, and then create brochures that "advertise" these environments. Working in groups or individually, learners study travel brochures and think critically about what makes advertisements effective. Older learners are encouraged to locate specific habitats, i.e. tide pools in San Francisco Bay. Although the use of technology is optional, the lesson can familiarize students with computer and internet interfacing and provide an introduction for page layout software.
