In this hands-on activity, learners determine the types of chemical reactions achieved when combining different household products. Learners explore the reactions using the steps of the scientific process: making hypothesizes, testing and gathering data, and drawing conclusions. Educators can download the data table (found on page 5 of the Activity Resources Page), for learners to record their observations. This activity allows educators to introduce basic chemistry concepts in a creative manner. Adult supervision is recommended for this activity.
