In this simulation, learners act out each digestive function of the organs, tissues, and cells in the digestive tract. Two parallel strips of tape on the floor 3-4 feet apart and the width of the room represent the tract. A large filled bag represents the food particles. Learners simulate peristaltic movement and each element of digestion as well as enjoying some candy (or any other food treat) at the end of the activity.
