In this activity, learners use maps to locate the Arctic region and use a word game to discover the types of resource people need to survive in the extreme climate. Learners examine the ways that Arctic people cooperate and help each other through the tradition of the "inukshuk." This activity is featured on pp.37-38 of the "One With the Earth: Native Americans and the Natural World" multidisciplinary unit of study for kindergarten through third grade.
