In this activity, learners investigate the food, water, and space needs of common livestock animals. Using math and problem solving skills, they will learn how many animals can live on their imaginary 100 acre ranch. Learners will discover how land use and food consumption can be sustainable. This detailed lesson plan includes key vocabulary words, background information for educators, and discussion questions.
