In this activity (on pages 22-24 of the PDF), learners match extreme enviroments with life forms they support. The environments are shown in one series of printable cards (the "Can Living Things Live Here?" set on pages 32-33 of the PDF), and the living things are on another series of cards (the "Extreme Life!" set on pages 34-35 of the PDF). Instructions are included for a "cards only" version of the activity, as well as a version for use "with computers" where learners view an online exhibit called "Spectrum of Life." The goal is to expand thinking about where on Earth life can exist.
