In this activity (page 1 of the PDF under SciGirls Activity: Forensics), learners will use a home video camera with a “night vision” mode to test how various inks appear outside the spectrum of visible light. In a darkened room, some messages will be legible with an infrared camera and others will seem to go invisible. Relates to the linked video, DragonflyTV: Forensics.
