Download the howtosmile app on iTunes and search the entire SMILE collection—now more than 2,000 STEM activities. You can also filter your search, sample the Top 20 most popular activities, read the blog for fresh approaches, ideas and special events, and share favorite SMILE activities and posts with students, friends, family, teachers, and other educators.

SMILE Search by Chemical
Have you tried the howtosmile.org Search by Chemical feature? Whether you teach chemistry in a home kitchen, a classroom, or a laboratory, you can now find accurate, helpful information every step of the way.
To find howtosmile.org activities that involve a specific chemical, you can search SMILE’s alphabetical list of chemicals. Within any SMILE activity that uses chemicals, you can also follow a live link from chemical name to chemical details, such as formula, shelf life, use, storage and disposal.
Thanks to a grant from the Camille & Henry Dreyfus Foundation, howtosmile.org also offers Suggestions for Chemicals, which connect you to qualified resources from purchase through safe disposal, and Ideas for Teaching Chemistry, which link specific lists of howtosmile.org activities to core concepts in chemistry.
SMILE Inspires at Science-Technology Centers Conference
