In this math activity, learners use gingerbread cookies to collect and organize simple data. First, learners read "The Gingerbread Boy" by Paul Galdone. Next, learners each take a bite out of a gingerbread cookie and record on a graph where they took the bite from (which part of the cookie they bit). Learners analyze the group graph and fill out individual record sheets. Learners also read and sing songs about gingerbread men, create a Venn-diagram, and make gingerbread puppets out of craft supplies.
