In this math activity, learners create symmetrical designs for paper models of special blouses known as huipiles. Women in Yalálag, Mexico wear long white huipiles that feature colorful, symmetrically-embroidered floral designs sewn on the front, back and sides. This activity guide contains a material list, sample questions to ask, literary connections, extensions, and alignment to local and national standards.
