In this math activity, learners estimate how many pennies are in a jar by predicting and counting handfuls of pennies. Use this activity to help learners make plausible estimates and develop a sense of units. Learners can also learn some fun facts related to pennies. This activity guide contains a material list, sample questions to ask, literary connections, extensions, and alignment to local and national standards.
