Recrystallization Test

In this activity, learners recrystallize substances from solutions and make observations about the resulting crystals. This test can help further identify the unknown. Two different methods for recrystallization are provided in this activity: an overnight method and a 1-hour to 3-hour method. This is a follow-up activity to the "Developing Tests to Distinguish Between Similar-Looking Liquids" activity from the same resource (see related resources).
