# Statistics: Whirlybirds

In this math lesson, learners measure, predict and determine the frequency of an event as it relates to how close Whirlybirds land to a target. In this simulation of a parachute jump competition, learners drop paper Whirlybirds towards a target on the floor. Learners measure the distance from the point the Whirlybird lands to the target. Distances are categorized into 10 centimeter intervals and tallied. Learners analyze the data to determine the frequency of a parachutist hitting a target area.
