If you have 3-foot dowels and rubber bands, you can can started on this fun and open design challenge. You can make structures big and small: make it so you can fit your parent into it! You can do this activity with individual designers or design as a group. Encourage your learners to get as creative as possible!

Materials List (per student)
- Wooden dowels – 3/8 inch diameter, 36 inches long (25–30 dowels per working group of kids or 150 for a class of 20)
- 1 pound of rubber bands (size 64) per class
