This is part 1 of the three-part "Crayon Rock Cycle" activity. In this activity, learners explore how sedimentary rocks form. Learners shave different crayons onto a square of aluminum foil and press them together with a piece of wax paper and their hands. Once their rock is formed, learners should draw their rock in their science journal. The activity guide contains step-by-step instructions, a background "Did You Know" section, an early childhood adaption section, and an extension "challenge" section.
